With the insurgence of Renovation programs flooding every conceivable area via television and social media we are seeing more and more people tackling projects themselves in and around their homes. At Handle House, we love hearing about and seeing these projects take shape and come to life. Whether it is a bed side table getting an overhaul or a complete kitchen makeover we have what you need to finish off the project and show case your hard work.
More and more people are now scouring recycling shops for unique pieces that can be given a new lease on life with a little bit of elbow grease, a few coats of paint and some gorgeous new knobs taking it from something that had been someone else’s trash into your very own treasure. Recently one of our beautiful clients Caroline took a very boring set of wooden drawers and transformed them completely with a little hard work and some of our stunning Oxley knob in the satin nickel finish that was perfectly offset by her antique white paint finish she had applied. These drawers have gone from drab to fab!
So too in other rooms of the house many projects can be achieved with a positive DIY approach. Kitchens are very easily updated with a coat of paint and a new selection of cabinet and drawer handles, without the expense that comes with installing an entirely new kitchen. This approach is perfect for people who are first home buyers wanting an update but not quite able to undergo a full renovation. Our Dear friend Polly, who can be found on Instagram @polly.poppet, recently gave her kitchen a complete overhaul by matching our beautiful Narangba handles to match her new black tapware and existing black window frame. I am sure you will agree the final result looks amazing.
The DIY concept can also, be incorporated for investment properties that are beginning to date and are needing a bit of an update without too much outgoing expense. I have personally undertaken small DIY renovation jobs on properties I rented in the past (with property managers and owners consent) to make a super ugly retro kitchen into something I didn’t develop a headache by just walking in the room! A coat of paint and some beautiful new handles or knobs in a contrasting colour can make what was a dark and drab place in the house into an area you choose to spend time in as opposed to it being a mundane experience.
At Handle House, we really do enjoy working alongside you on all projects big and small, we invite you to send us photographs along with your thoughts of what you are trying to achieve and we will work alongside you, sharing your ideas and enjoying the outcome just as much as you do.
